Durre Nayab
Dr. Durre Nayab is a renowned Pakistani demographer, known for her policy-oriented research and academic discourse. She is recognized for her expertise in demography, public health, gender issues, and socio-economic development. Her research focuses on understanding the intersectionality of demographic dynamics, economics, sociology and psychology for development at micro and macro levels.
Dr. Nayab was associated with the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) for over three decades, and served as the Director Research and Joint Director. She has a huge volume of work published nationally and internationally. She has to her credit the seminal work on areas like the demographic dividend, social protection, middle class, youth issues and social capital in Pakistan. Her work is widely respected in the academic and policy circles of Pakistan for her thorough and insightful research, which bridges the gap between theory and practical application in development policy. Her expertise includes conducting large-scale surveys.
Dr. Nayab did her PhD in Demography from the Australian National University (ANU).
